What is The Certificate in Supervisory Management?
The Certificate in Supervisory Management (CSM)
is a nationally accredited modern, dynamic, leadership
development program built on a quality adult education
model. Its principle aim is to develop and enhance
those human skills that are fundamental to successful
management,supervision and community participation.
The dominant theme of the CSM is people: understanding
ourselves and understanding and working with our staff,
our clients and our colleagues.
The CSM Program appeals to:
- Individuals in the business industry, government, education
and non-profit and voluntary sector organizations who wish
to upgrade their existing managerial and supervisory skill set
- Individuals looking to strengthen their resumes in preparation
for such positions in the future
- Individuals who wish to participate more fully and confidentally

The Canadian Institute of Management
The Canadian Institute of Management is Canada's senior
management association. Established in 1942, as a nonprofit
organization, it is dedicated to the enhancement of
managerial skills and professional development. Toronto
is home to the National Office, with branches stretching
from coast to coast. The CSM Program is a nationally
accredited program of the Institute.
The Canadian Institute of Management has helped over
45,000 individuals develp a broad-based education in
management and supervisory skills through programs
such as the Certificate in Management and the Certificate
in Supervisory Management.
CIM Partnership
The Canadian Institute of
Management has partnered with Island Career Academy
to deliver the CSM Program. Island Career Academy is
a registered Private Career College with the Nova Scotia
Department of Labour and Advanced Education and is a member in good standing
of both the National Association of Career Colleges of
Canada and Nova Scotia Association of Career Colleges.

The CSM program is a Professional Development program and is not registered under the Private Career College Act
6 MONTH PROGRAM
The CSM Program appeals to individuals who want to
acquire a quality certification within a reasonable time
frame. Unlike many diplomas/certification programs that
require a lenghty commitment, successful completion of
the CSM Program is a matter of months
